One of the most interesting types of cosplay costumes to see for different cosplay events is the maid costume. This is something that is heavily inspired by some of the many cafes in Japan where waitresses dress up like maids and work with every single need that a customer has no matter how unusual it may sound. Here are some of the things to take a look at when it comes to this interesting type of cosplay costume.
A maid costume works with a unique type of pattern. First the costume will feature a dress that works with or without sleeves. In most cases the sleeves will be used. These will be ones that only work to cover a part of the arm before the elbow. Sleeveless costumes can be used as well.
A large white accent can be found on the front of the dress as well. This is something that will cover up the entire chest and a part of the blouse area near the hips. This is used as a means of working to give off a good French maid type of vibe.
The color that will be used for the costume can vary. Some cosplay costumes like these can work with blue or black colors. This comes from how these are colors that are often associated with maids. Other types of colors, including red, pink, gray and green, can also be used. The possibilities of these costumes are practically endless.
The bottom part of a maid dress will feature some ruffles. The lower layer will be white and the upper layer will be in a color that is the same as that of what was used for the rest of the dress body.
The shoes and socks are important accents to see. The socks will generally go up to one’s knees. White is the most commonly used sock color but the color that matches the main color for the dress can work as well. The shoes, meanwhile, will need to be of the same main color as that of the dress. If the dress is black then the shoes should be black. Heels and dress shoes can work for this part of the costume.
Finally there is the headwear. A slight ruffle that matches the colors of the dress can work. This part of the costume is not always going to be required. Consider this to be an option part of the costume.
